Cameras Performance Optimization
To ensure optimal performance and maximize the number of cameras the system can support, please review the Stream Source and AI Service tabs in each camera's settings.
1. Stream Source
Each camera typically defaults to a high-resolution stream, such as 2560×1920, 1920×1080, or 1280×720. To reduce CPU usage:
-
Set the Live View stream source to a lower resolution (generally stream source 2), preferably the lowest available.
-
Set the Recording stream source to the highest available resolution to ensure high-quality recorded footage.
Adjusting these settings helps balance system performance and video quality, especially when managing a large number of camera feeds.
2. Ai Service
The most CPU-intensive operation in the system is AI inferencing. To optimize performance, set the AI computing stream source to a lower resolution stream—typically Stream 2 in most camera models.
This step is critical. Running AI analysis on high-resolution streams significantly increases CPU load and may prevent the system from supporting the maximum number of cameras efficiently.
